Remember!

"All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord; and all the families of the nations

shall worship before him. For dominion belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations."

Psalm 22:27-28

Greetings my friends we need YOUR help!

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord!”

During Holy week 2020, this quote paints a “new picture” in my mind. What does it look like to “remember and turn to the Lord during a pandemic?” What does it look like to “remember and turn to the Lord” in a time of social distancing? What does it look like to “remember and turn to the Lord” at this time and in this place?

I’ve been doing a great deal of thinking about “remembering.” Pictures always help me to remember. I remember various days, moments, and events in my life especially when I see pictures. Some of them with great joy and others with great sadness. I can see a picture from my childhood and “remember” how wonderful the days of my youth were with all my cousins and family gathered so closely together. I can see a picture from a ministry event at church and immediately “remember” the feeling of solidarity and closeness.

During Holy week 2020 we want to remember how we gathered as a community of faith to bear witness to the passion and new life that is found in Jesus Christ, but we need YOUR help!

This week we are asking all the people who form the United Proclamation of the Gospel in Bethlehem and the people of St. John’s Windish Lutheran Church to help us remember this time by sending us pictures of you and your family at home! On Easter Sunday during our “live stream” (Sunday at 7am) we are planning on showing these pictures to everyone in our worshipping community as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord.

Will you help us? Please share your picture with us, selfies or others! These pictures will be placed into a video loop and will be displayed during our Easter 2020 worship celebration. Pictures need to be emailed to Matt Piszel at m.piszel@att.net by Thursday. He will then create a video loop of all the gathered pictures and this video loop will be shared during our worship on Sunday.

In the meantime.

Trust God, keep washing those hands, and be at peace my friends!
